Line Rhythm

 Line Rhythm 1

In this repetitionof lines, I tried to create rhythm by starting with medium think-ness dotted lines to create a louder sense of rhythm. I then went on by going thinner there is movement when someone looks at this. The next dotted line was the thickest. I chose that to show contrast. From that line, the width decreases and shows a sense of the rhythm fading.

Line Rhythm 2

In this repetition of lines, I started off with a thick line. I decided to use normal lines. In this rhythm line, I start off with the thickest line meaning it would be loud. This line also shows a direction of up and down. From then, the width varies from thick to thin. The third line goes diagonal from the top left corner to the bottom right. This is also the thinnest line. Lastly, the fourth line goes in the opposite direction, it starts from about the mid-point from the right to the bottom left. This repetition creates a simple look.

Rocky Mountains

Bierstadt, " Rocky Mountains,"

Imitationalism - This piece of artwork expresses realistic characteristics by using color and texture. This picture  imitates the Rocky Mountains accurately. The artist used the concept of contrasting the colors by making the bottom part of the painting darker and precise in detail. The top part of the painting is painted with lighter colors to express that the mountains are farther away and fading. This painting is suppose to illustrate the peaceful-ness of the Native Indians. I  like the noticeable details in the mountains by using color and contrast.

Formalism - The intensity in this picture is well done because you can picture and see what the Native Indians are doing in this painting. Bierstadt illustrated this painting with precise detail and contrast. The intensity in this painting expresses the beauty of mother nature. The lines in this painting are curvy and rigid. The texture in this painting is realistic because the use of contrast and purpose-full lines. This painting expresses the beauty of mother nature well.

Emotionalism -  The emotion given in this painting is peace. In my opinion the painting illustrates peace and calmness. Emotionally this painting is done well and expresses the emotion in a way that people can look at this painting and tell what the emotion is.

Andy Warhol

In CyberArts, we have been learning about an artist called "Andy Warhol." His art is unique and very cool to learn about and do.

Andy was born on August 6, 1928. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was known for being an American painter, print maker and filmmaker. His art that he made was known as " Pop Art ". He had first started his art career in his own kitchen by making collages and drawings using magazine cut-outs. Later on, Warhol, moved to New York with only $200. He carried his artwork in this old, run down, brown bag. Warhol sold some of his artwork in a cafe and made around $12.50 for one painting.

Andy started to make paintings of Campbell soup cans, Cola bottles and celebrities like: Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and Micheal Jackson.

Warhol died on February 22, 1987. His art and unique-ness will live on forever in our lives and we will never forget him.
