Andy Warhol

In CyberArts, we have been learning about an artist called "Andy Warhol." His art is unique and very cool to learn about and do.

Andy was born on August 6, 1928. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was known for being an American painter, print maker and filmmaker. His art that he made was known as " Pop Art ". He had first started his art career in his own kitchen by making collages and drawings using magazine cut-outs. Later on, Warhol, moved to New York with only $200. He carried his artwork in this old, run down, brown bag. Warhol sold some of his artwork in a cafe and made around $12.50 for one painting.

Andy started to make paintings of Campbell soup cans, Cola bottles and celebrities like: Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and Micheal Jackson.

Warhol died on February 22, 1987. His art and unique-ness will live on forever in our lives and we will never forget him.
