Composition in Our Photography

This picture shows pattern. This factor is created by repeating the diamond shape in the fence. It also leads your eyes diagonal and creates a lot of movement. The backround is the grass and the green color really makes the silver in the fence stand out which is also contrast.

This picture represents one of the composition rules which was the rule of thirds. This is shown by drawing 3 horizontal lines and 2 vertical lines. Where ever the lines intersect is where an important point of the picture should be. In this case the lines intersect around where the tackle is(people on the ground), number 90 on the gray team and number 33 on the gray team. Those are the main focuses of the photo.

This picture represents the diagonal rule. This is shown by the gray team, number 56 in the bottom right corner and the rest of the people going to the left. The line does not go all the way to the opposite side but is still moving in the direction. This leads your eye from the bottom right to the left and ends off with a big group of people on the side lines. This photo also shows perspective.

My Logo

My Logo

The first step we had to do was research our name. My name, Alisha, means Noble and protected by god. My last name, Ganga,  means river water. I chose to base my logo on  the qualities/words protected by god and river water.

With the qualities/words I chose, I came up with waves. This represents my last name which means river water. Long, wavy waves. I used direction to figure out what would look best or best describe my qualities. By doing that, I came to a conclusion that I would use waves and use them in a horizontal format. I chose to illustrate each wave with two lines and use a different type of color which was a sky blue and dark blue. By choosing two different colors it shows contrast between light and dark. This also makes the waves stand out. The person walking on water symbolizes a god like figure which in my opinion is a holy and spiritual figure. In reality, no one can actually walk on water.

In my logo the colors used are a sky blue and dark blue. Blue usually represents or reminds you of water. This relates to my name because my last name means river water. The line quality of the waves are thick, curvy and horizontal. The lines also show sturdiness and they're confident lines. The typography used in this logo is my name in the font "Futura"and the size of font is 14 pt. The typography in my logo illustrates confident and strong. I personally thought that adding the blue outline will represent my name being "protected" which is one of the meanings, protected by god. By adding the blue outline my name also stands out. Like i previously said, my logo represents water and protected by god. The waves used in my logo show water. The person walking on water represents a god-like figure. Walking on water in some religions is a holy and spiritual act. The person walking on water also illustrates that in reality no one can actually walk on water but being protected by god, it shows that god is helping/protecting the person over the water.

The technical part of this process was to draw thumbnails in our sketchbook. I came up with several ideas and then it was to go on to Adobe Illustrator. This is a tool that is used on the computer to create art or "draw" on the computer. There are different tools like the paint brush, pencil, crop, lines, and many more. Illustrator is an amazing tool and i recommend it to anyone.

Overall I'm happy with my logo and I think i showed my characteristics accuratly. My logo is creative and I hope it inspires people to try and create their own logos!

Hope you enjoyed my journey to create my logo!! :)

Composition in Photography

Focus on Photography - Composition   <------- Check It Out!

The first website is great for composition because it shows you some of the important factors like point of interest, color, simplicity and rule of thirds. I also really like how they gave an example of a photo for each factor and use the photo as an example. It helps a lot because you can understand when it is shown for you.

Photography: The Rules of Composition    <------- Check It Out!

This second website is also helpful because it clearly tells you what each factor is, for example
Rule of Thirds it clearly tells you that you have to draw three horizontal lines and three vertical lines and therefor where ever the lines intersect is where the important parts are.

Check these websites out!! :)

Logo Analysis

  Logo Type: Typography
(Disney)

I think this logo is intended for a younger audience for the ages of 6 years and younger. This company is a television station and creates books and movies.  I think the lines are supposed to express happiness and fun. The lines are loose and flowing. They’re very curvy and the direction is up and down. The shapes in this logo are a circle and a triangle.  This shape is recognizable and simple. The color in this logo is black and it is the main color. I think it doesn’t properly show company because it is a company attracting kids. The colors should be rainbow or a bright color like red, orange, yellow or green.

 Logo Type: Initials
 (BMW)

I think this logo is intended for adults because it is Car Company. The lines are straight and circular. I think the lines are supposed to show class and luxury. They are mechanical and very precise. This shows that this company is for luxury. There are recognizable shapes like circles and triangles. They are very precise and geometrically accurate. The colors in this logo are black, white, silver and blue.  These colors could show the beauty and the colors of the cars. I think this logo fits because it shows a lot of class.

Logo Type: Pictorial
(Google Chrome)

This is the Google Chrome Internet browser logo. This company is intended for everyone. The purpose of this company is to research, find music and connect with the world. The line type is straight and curved. They are using bright colors. I think the lines are trying to express a new generation of Internet browsers and this logo makes me think of robots. There is one circle that is in the middle and the rest of shapes are polygons.  The colors used in this logo are green, red, yellow and blue. These colors make the logo stand out. These colors have been Google’s main colors for a long time and by using these colors in their new logo, they are showing that they are the same Google but newer and faster.

 Logo Type: Abstract
(Recycle Logo)

I think the intended audience is for anyone that uses shoes. The line type is straight and diagonal. they`re very mechanical. The shapes in this logo are rectangles. The rectangles or bars increase each time. The color(s) used in this logo are black and blue. They used two different types of blue. These colors can show the type of colors used in shoes and the color blue can show comfort which is good for a shoe and types of clothing.

Logo Type: Combination
(Logitech)

This is Logitech’s logo. They’re a computer company. The intended audience is for people that use computers. The lines in this logo are straight, curved and circular. The colors used are green, black, red and gray. The green stands out more and makes your eyes move in a downward direction. I like the use of fading in the green object which also makes your eyes move.
